An in-depth look at the application of GIS for industrial heritage documentation

The use of geospatial technologies to identify and document architectural heritage, with the associated benefits for managing information, is already relatively widespread. However, there has been little discussion about difficulties, decision-making process problems encountered when using GIS digitize data, this heritage. This study sets out propose a conceptual work explore relationship between immovable industrial heritage documentation application on basis case studies, in particular: identification Eurocity Guadiana olive mills Écija. After discussing workflow developed, difficulties encountered, how these determine structure model, results, paper concludes that further progress still necessary acquire more pragmatic vision field archaeology.
